Questions, answered.
Including the ones where the answer is not yet — those tend to be the ones worth reading.
Getting started
One system covering bookkeeping, VAT and Making Tax Digital, payroll, practice management, e-commerce and client communication — instead of four or five separate products that each hold part of the picture and disagree at the edges.
Yes — 14 days on monthly plans, no card needed to look around. Annual plans start immediately rather than on trial, so start monthly if you want to try before committing.
A sole trader starting fresh is working within an hour. A practice moving a book of clients is a longer conversation, and we would rather scope it honestly than promise a weekend.
Yes, at no charge for your first clients. The migration centre imports from Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and CSV, and we will run the first files alongside you.
Pricing
Four plans: Solo £19, Business £39, Practice £89, Complete £149 per month. No per-client licences and no setup fee.
Per practice. A firm on the Practice plan pays one subscription regardless of how many clients sit inside it.
Monthly plans cancel at the end of the period, and your data stays exportable. It is your ledger — we do not hold it hostage to keep you subscribed.
Compliance & HMRC
The MTD functionality is built and works against HMRC’s API — VAT, Income Tax and RTI, with digital record keeping and digital links. Our production filing credentials are being finalised with HMRC, and until that is switched on the platform deliberately refuses to file rather than reporting a submission that never happened. We will confirm exactly where it stands before you rely on it for a deadline.
Standard, cash accounting and flat rate (including the limited cost trader test), plus partial exemption with de minimis testing and the annual adjustment, and the capital goods scheme. Margin and retail schemes can be recorded against a client, but Qwikr does not yet compute figures under them — a return is built on the standard scheme with a note to prepare those boxes yourself.
Yes — FPS and EPS are built from the approved pay run, with auto-enrolment assessment, pension filing, CIS, P45s, P60s and P11Ds in the same place.
Cross-border consumer sales are identified from the evidence on the transaction, charged at the destination rate, and accumulated into an EU One Stop Shop return as you trade. EC Sales Lists are produced for B2B supplies.
Security & trust
No, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. Qwikr is a new company and neither certification has been completed. The controls themselves — per-tenant database isolation, encryption at rest, two-factor authentication, role-based permissions and a full audit trail — are real and in the product today.
Each tenant has its own database rather than a shared table with a tenant column. The separation is a property of the connection instead of a condition in every query, so it cannot be forgotten.
No. Client data is not used to train third-party foundation models. The pattern learning that improves categorisation stays inside your own tenant.
That is the right question, and the honest answer is: start small. Move two or three clients, run them in parallel for a quarter, and judge it on what you see. Every action is audited, your data lives in its own database, and you can export all of it whenever you like.
The product
Not unless you tell it to. Suggestions land in a queue for approval and you choose which action types may ever run unattended. Anything automated is written to the same audit log as a human action, with its reasoning attached.
Yes. The AI sits on top of a complete conventional system — bank rules, manual matching and journals all work without any model involved.
It is in development for iOS and Android — receipt capture, mileage, documents, messaging and e-signature. White-label publishing under a practice’s own name and branding is planned once the app itself ships; early-access practices get it first.
Yes — a documented REST API on the same service layer the interface uses, with signed webhooks and scoped tokens. Anything you can click, you can call.
