For individuals

Your books, done
in the queue at Costa.

Sole trader, freelancer or landlord — Qwikr reads your receipts, tracks what you owe HMRC as you go, and keeps the records in the shape Making Tax Digital wants them.

The admin, minus the admin

Everything here exists to stop paperwork accumulating into a weekend job.

Snap it and forget it

Photograph a receipt and the supplier, date, VAT and total are read off it and matched to the payment on your bank feed.

Know what you owe

A running estimate of your tax liability that updates as you trade, so January is a payment rather than a discovery.

Mileage without the notebook

Log journeys as you make them at the current approved rate, instead of reconstructing a year of travel in December.

Deadlines that find you

Push notifications for VAT, payments on account and Self Assessment, timed to be useful rather than to panic you.

Invoices that get paid

Send invoices and quotes, take card or direct debit payment on them, and let the reminders chase without you being awkward about it.

Built for MTD

Digital record keeping designed around Making Tax Digital for VAT and Income Tax, so the requirements are met as you go.

Real-time tax

No more January surprises

The worst thing about working for yourself is not the tax. It is not knowing the number until the moment you have to pay it — by which point the money has often been spent on something reasonable.

Qwikr keeps a running estimate from your actual income and expenses, updates it every time something lands, and tells you what to set aside now. The figure is an estimate, not a return, but it is close enough to plan around.

  • Updates as income and expenses arrive, not once a year
  • Payments on account included in the forecast
  • Set-aside guidance so the money is there when it is due
  • Breakdown you can drill into rather than a single scary number

Whatever you actually do

Freelancers and contractors

Irregular income, expenses on a personal card, and a tax bill that is hard to picture until it arrives. Qwikr keeps the position current so you can set money aside as you earn it.

Landlords

Property income and expenses tracked per property, with finance cost restriction handled and the figures ready for the property pages of your return.

Sole traders

Bookkeeping, VAT if you are registered, and Self Assessment in one place — with the option to hand it to an accountant when it stops being fun.

Side businesses

Selling online alongside a job. Marketplace sales, fees and the trading allowance handled without a second system.

Working with an accountant

Hand it over whenever you want

Plenty of people start doing their own books and stop enjoying it around the time the business gets busy. Usually that means exporting everything and starting again somewhere else.

Here you invite an accountant into the books you already have. They see the same ledger, work in the same system, and nothing gets rebuilt. If you do not have one, we can introduce you to firms already on the platform.

  • Invite your accountant into your existing books
  • No export, no re-keying, no starting again
  • Sign accounts and returns from your phone
  • Message them in the app instead of emailing documents about

Questions, answered

No. Qwikr works perfectly well on your own — that is what the Solo and Business plans are for. But if you would rather hand it over, you can invite an accountant into your books, or ask us to introduce you to one using the same platform.

Yes. The migration tools import from Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and CSV, including your contacts, opening balances and history. Start mid-year if you want to — you do not have to wait for April.

Bank feeds run through regulated open banking providers covering the UK high street and most challengers. If yours is not covered you can import statements instead.

Then you do not need the VAT features, and the Solo plan is probably right. You can move up to the Business plan the month you register, without changing anything about how you work.

The Self Assessment and VAT functionality is built and works against HMRC’s API. Our production filing credentials are being finalised with HMRC — until that is live the app deliberately refuses to file rather than telling you something was submitted when it was not. We will confirm the position before you need to rely on it.

Yes, for iOS and Android. If you work with an accountancy firm using Qwikr, you will get their branded version of it instead.
